Interactive 2-D NMR Spectroscopy Workshop
Interactive 2-D NMR Spectroscopy Workshop
Instructed by Lenore Rasmussen, PhD, Ras Labs & Dave Orban, Ethicon, Inc.
June 2, 2008 to June 6, 2008
Description
This hands-on 2-D NMR short course will cover homonuclear correlated spectroscopy techniques, such as COSY, DOSY, NOESY, TOCSY, and DEPT, and heteronuclear correlated techniques, such as gHMQC, gHSQC, and gHMBC. Course requirements are an understanding of basic 1-D NMR spectroscopy. The main part of the course will run Monday, June 2 through Friday, June 6, 2008. Part of the time will be spent at the 400 MHz and 500 MHz NMR instruments. Students are encouraged to bring a sample that they wish to analyze. The goal is to become comfortable with and master advanced NMR techniques, and to produce quality spectra that can be used in publications, presentations, and thesis research. Throughout the course, students are encouraged to generate their own spectra for class discussion. Evenings will be reserved for overnight NMR experiments. If time permits, a C-C correlated experiment (overnight INADEQUATE experiment) will be performed. Solvent suppression experiments will also be covered.
