3DNA logo A Software Package for the Analysis, Rebuilding, and Visualization of Three-dimensional Nucleic Acid Structures
Xiang-Jun Lu & Wilma K. Olson

3DNA was created in the hope that it will be useful, but without any guarantees. Nothing is perfect, and we strive to improve its functionalities. Any comments, constructive suggestions, and bug reports are welcome.

***3DNA v2.0 is available*** - it is time to update! (added March 20, 2009)

Specifically, the v2.0 distribution contains the directory NP_Recipes with the scripts, data files and final images so that you can reproduce our results presented in the 3DNA 2008 Nature Protocols paper. Working through these examples, you will have a better appreciation of the versatile functionality of 3DNA v2.0!

Downloading 3DNA v1.5 for various platforms - still available and works well, but out of date and no longer supported!

3DNA is written in pure ANSI C with connecting Perl scripts, and thus can be compiled without modification on any platform, which has an ANSI C compiler installed. We provide compiled versions of 3DNA for most common operating systems. If your operating system is not on the list, please let us know, and we will compile a version of the program for you.

A brief user's manual, describing how to set up the system, is available. There are two steps in setting up the system: one is to set the environment variable, X3DNA, to point to where the 3DNA system is installed and the other is to add the bin directory to your command search path.
