Dr. William Schinski retired in 2005 after 35 years with the Chevron Corporation.  Dr. Schinski joined the Ortho Division of the Chevron Chemical Company in 1969 and was transferred to the Catalyst Group for the Chevron Research and Technology Company in 1994.

He acted as a planning consultant with Chevron's Corporate-funded Strategic Research Program and was the Technical Team leader-Applied Catalytic Processes in the Chevron Energy Technology Center. He also served special assignments for Strategic Planning focusing on Advanced Materials, Biofuels and Gas-to-Liquids.

Dr. Schinski contributed to numerous collaborative research projects at major universities, national labs and research institutes. He also served as Chevron board representative at methane conversion consortia lead by the US DOE, Canada’s CANMET and Air Products.

He held advisory board positions with NSF-funded Chemistry Enabling New Tech Center (U of Wash) & Center for Separations Using Thin Films (U of Colorado); DOE-funded Center for Catalytic Hydrocarbon Functionalization (U of VA); U of Colorado Faculty Advisory Board; and Ceramatec’s  (Div of CoorsTech) Industrial Advisory Board. In 2016 Dr. Schinski was honored as a Fellow in the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).

Dr. Schinski received his PhD from Rutgers in 1968 and conducted post-doctoral research at the University of Wisconsin from 1968-1969.

In retirement, Dr. Schinski maintains an active program of consulting and collaborative research.
