Calculations are used to elucidate possible transition structures for enzyme mechanisms. In this figure, the theoretical transition structure for the enzyme-catalyzed decarboxylation of a nucleic acid called OMP is depicted. In the Lee lab, both calculations and experiments are used to explore biological and organic problems.
