Soumik was a graduate student in the Goldman group. His research focused on various mechanistic and kinetic studies of the catalytic transfer dehydrogenation of hydrocarbons and olefin isomerization by pincer-iridium complex. Soumik is currently working on mechanism of metal catalyzed cross coupling reaction to form new C-C bond and method development as a postdoctoral researcher with Prof. Daniel J. Weix at University of Rochester. He did his bachelors in Chemistry in Presidency College, Calcutta in India and finished his masters from IIT-Bombay in India specializing in Inorganic chemistry. He did his masters thesis with Prof. C.P.Rao.
