Sahar received her M.Sc. and Ph.D degrees in Organic Chemistry from Tanta University in Egypt. She then held a visiting scientist position at the University of Maryland, where her research focused on metalloporphyrins in oxidation reactions of organic compounds. During her time in the Goldman group, she worked on the application of heterogeneous catalysts for alkane metathesis. She is a proud mother of two teenagers.
