Qiang Chen was born in Shandong, China, in 1987. He received his PhD degree in Nankai University in 2014 under the supervision of Prof. Xian-He Bu. He then spent two years at Collaborative Innovation Center of Chemical Science and Engineering (Tianjin)-Nankai University as a postdoctoral fellow before joining Dr. Jing Li’s group in 2016. His research interests include design and synthesis of new porous materials and their application in selective adsorption and fluorescence.

Ben was born right here in New Brunswick and has been a NJ resident for most of his life.  He did his undergraduate research here in the Li Group, the focus of which was finding MOFs to employ as heterogeneous catalysts.  Ben completed his undergraduate studies at Rutgers University in 2012, earning a B.A. in Chemistry.  He officially joined the Li group later that year after being accepted into the Ph.D. program and continues his quest of finding MOF catalysts for both carbon dioxide reduction and water splitting reactions.  He is currently in his fifth year.

Xiuze graduated from Wuhan University in China with a B.Sc. in Chemistry in 2017 before he entered Rutgers Chemistry Ph. D. program and joined Dr. Li’s group. He worked in a material lab for 3 years and focused on the nanostructured functional materials and their energy-related applications during his undergraduate. Now he is at his first year in the Ph.D. program with his research focusing on the design and synthesis of inorganic-organic hybrid materials as efficient phosphors.

D. program with his research focusing on the design and synthesis of multifunctional metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) for phosphors, catalysis, gas adsorption etc.

Hao received his B.Sc. from Wuhan University in China in 2012 before he came to United States and entered Rutgers Chemistry PhD program. He majored in Materials Chemistry for his undergraduate study and worked in a supramolecular research lab for 2 years. He is now in his fifth year in Dr. Jing Li's group. His research interest focuses on the syntheses and applications of porous solids (zeolites, MOFs, COFs, etc.) with an emphasis on metal-organic frameworks and their applications in molecular capture and separation. Hao has coauthored more than 30 research papers.

Jing received the Ph.D in Inorganic Chemistry from Sun Yat-sen University in 2008 and then worked in Guangzhou University as an associate professor. Now she is a visiting scholar in Prof. Li’ group. Her research interests focus on the design, synthesis and property research of porous metal-organic frameworks (MOFs).

Zhaofeng is an“Assistant Research Professor " at State Key Laboratory of Structural Chemistry, Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter, Chinese Academy of Sciences, since 2013. He graduated from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in China with a Dr. degree in Inorganic Chemistry in 2016. Supported by the CSC programme, in 2017, he joined Prof. Jing Li's group as a postdoctor. His research interests are primarily in the design, synthesis, characterization of MOF materials for different applications.

Shikai Xian received his Ph.D. degrees in Chemical Engineering in Sept. 2015 from South China University of Technology. During  Oct. 2015~ Aug. 2019, he worked in Guangzhou Liby Enterprise Group as a senior R&D engineer. He joined Prof. Jing Li’s lab as a postdoctoral fellow in Nov. 2019. His research focuses on the synthesis of novel Metal-organic frameworks for gas adsorption  and separation.
