Our primary objective is to provide conferees with the highest quality scientific program in an equally inspiring setting. Following in the legacy of The Second Calorimetry Conference (CALCON 1947) which convened at the majestic and stately Traymore Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey, the Organizing Committee has selected Revel as the official meeting site for The 68th Calorimetry Conference. This newly constructed hotel and entertainment resort is the 21st century equivalent of the Traymore Hotel and an architectural masterpiece in its own right. Revel is located on the northern end of the world famous Atlantic City boardwalk and affords spectacular panoramic views of the New Jersey coastline and Atlantic Ocean. In addition to 20 acres of private beachfront property, the luxury resort features:

  • indoor/outdoor pool
  • sauna
  • workout center
  • multiple world-class restaurants
  • spectacular night club
  • nonstop entertainment.

The spacious and stylish design incorporates the latest innovative technologies that provide an unrivaled resort experience. Colleagues are encouraged to invite family members and/or accompanying guests to enjoy all of the amenities that Revel offers including first class accommodations in a totally smoke-free environment with complimentary wireless access.

The Calorimetry Conference has negotiated an attractive rate on guest accommodations at the Revel during the official meeting dates of August 18 - 22, 2013. The single/double occupancy rate of USD 129 per night for an Ocean View Room represents a substantial discount relative to the standard rate offered at this resort during the summer season. Attendees must reserve their guest rooms at the Revel by JULY 01, 2013 to ensure accommodations at these specially negotiated conference prices.

Conferees may reserve their accommodations by clicking the REVEL ONLINE RESERVATIONS box which accesses a special link on the resort web site that is dedicated exclusively for registrants of The 68 TH Calorimetry Conference. The reservation system automatically populates the contracted group rate so conferees are not required to enter a discount code. The Organizing Committee advises conference participants to secure their accommodations prior to the reservation deadline as we cannot guarantee availability of rooms at the contracted rate past the cutoff date.

STUDENT ACCOMMODATIONS

Young scientists represent the future of research at the interface of core disciplines and emerging technologies. The Conference Organizing Committee strongly advocates student participation at CALCON 2013 by encouraging principal investigators to register their younger colleagues. The 68tj Calorimetry Conference is subsidizing student registration fees (i.e., USD 295) and arranging shared accommodations to demonstrate our organization’s ongoing commitment to actively promote young scientist participation. Students may elect to share a room at the double occupancy rate of USD 129 per night (i.e., USD 64.50 apiece), the triple occupancy rate of USD 139 per night (i.e., USD 46.33 apiece), or the quad occupancy rate of USD 149 per night (i.e., USD 37.25 apiece) to reduce their overall lodging rates. The combination of reduced registration fees and shared accommodations allows students to attend The 68th Calorimetry Conference at an affordable rate of USD 617.50 (e.g., USD 322.50 for five nights of double occupancy lodging plus USD 295 conference registration fee). Similarly, conferees traveling on a restricted budget may select the double occupancy rate to attend CALCON 2013 at a reasonable cost of USD 917.50 (e.g., USD 322.50 for five nights double occupancy lodging plus USD 595 conference registration fee). Conferees are advised to reserve accommodations early to ensure availability of their preferred lodging option.
