A Memorial Symposium Recognizing the Contributions of Professor Manuel Ribeiro da Silva to Structure-Energetic Correlations

manuelRibeiroDaSilva300x401The Calorimetry Conference is honored and privileged to convene a special symposium celebrating the life and legacy of Professor Manuel Ribeiro da Silva, a pioneering force in the field of calorimetry and thermodynamics applied to structure-energetic correlations. Under Professor Ribeiro da Silva’s expert guidance and leadership spanning nearly four decades, the Thermochemistry Laboratory at the University of Porto developed a stellar reputation as a national center of excellence while simultaneously attaining international prominence. Professor Ribeiro da Silva published over 300 research articles during his illustrious academic career for which he received numerous accolades including the prestigious 2009 James J. Christensen and 2011 Hugh M. Huffman Memorial Awards administered by The Calorimetry Conference. The indelible scientific footprint that Professor Ribeiro da Silva has engraved on the field of molecular thermodynamics shall always remain as a testament of his insight and inspiration to future generations. The Sixty-Ninth Calorimetry Conference is honored to host Professor Maria D.M.C. Ribeiro da Silva who will present the Keynote Address at the Memorial Symposium celebrating the enduring personal and scientific legacy of Professor Manuel Ribeiro da Silva, a cherished friend and colleague whose lifelong achievements merit special recognition.
