Anjana Pandey

Anjana bio photo

Anjana was born and raised in Uttarakhand, India. She completed her Bachelor's from Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi. In 2021, she moved to the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB), for Master’s studies. There she worked on “Hydrophosphinylation of C-N and C-O unsaturated bond using Indium metal complex as a catalyst” with Prof. Maheswaran Shanmugam. She joined the Goldman group in December, 2023. She is interested in synthetic organometallic chemistry and mechanistic studies in catalysis. Besides Chemistry, she enjoys cooking and trekking.

Ashish Parihar

Jess bio photoAshish was born and raised in Jammu and Kashmir, India. He completed his BSc Hons. in Chemistry from Hindu College, University of Delhi. He then moved to Kanpur for his Masters at Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) where he worked on Total Synthesis with Prof. Dattatraya Dethe and spent his summer working on Asymmetric Organocatalysis. In Alan’s group he is interested in Organometallics and Catalysis. Besides Chemistry, he enjoys traveling and hiking.

Jess Malcolm

Jess bio photoJess was born in Lubbock, Texas and grew up in the Permian Basin. Jess received her B.A. in Theatre with a specialization in Sound Design from Barnard College in 2014. After college, Jess worked as the Technical Director for the Glicker-Milstein Theatre where she helped undergraduates mount over 400 live events. Before joining the Goldman Group in 2021, Jess conducted research in natural products chemistry at Hunter College under the guidance of Professor Akira Kawamura. Her current research interests include synthetic organometallic chemistry and mechanistic studies. Outside the lab, Jess enjoys spending time with her dog and running.

Rachel Allen

Rachel is from Flemington, NJ. She graduated from Rutgers University with a BA in chemistry, a BA in dance and a minor in French. She danced professionally after college before returning to Rutgers where she joined the Goldman group in 2020. She is interested in mechanistic studies in organometalic catalysis with a focus on systems involved in homogeneous nitrogen redution. She primarily focuses on using DFT methods to ellucidate mehanisms and understand common catalytic systems in this field. Outside of the lab, Rachel continues to dance at Broadway Dance Center. She also enjoys hiking, powerlifting and catching pokemon.

Sheikh Mohammad Arman

Sheikh Mohammad Arman2Arman was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He pursued a B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Dhaka.  Before joining the Goldman group, he taught chemistry to high schoolers in Bangladesh and mentored the International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO)- Bangladesh team. He is interested in catalyst design for novel transformations in organic molecules. Apart from his scientific pursuits, Arman harbors a love for cooking and coffee.

Soham Chakraborty

Soham imageSoham was born and brought up in Krishnagar, West Bengal, India. He achieved his 5-year BS-MS dual degree from Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata (2016-2021). There, he did his BS-MS thesis under the supervision of Prof. Sayam Sen Gupta on "Electrocatalytic alcohol oxidation with a high-valent molecular iron complex". He joined the Goldman group in December, 2021. Here, he is interested in synthetic, as well as computational organometallic chemistry, and the mechanistic studies in catalysis. Outside the lab, he is a passionate writer. Writing poetry and articles, reading books, traveling, and listening to music are some of his favourite pastime hobbies.

Souvik Mandal

Jess bio photoSouvik was born and raised in a small township located in the suburbs of Howrah district, West Bengal, India. In 2014, he moved to the Indian Institute of Science(IISc), Bangalore for undergraduate studies. He completed his Bachelor's and Master's thesis under Dr. K. Geetharani on "Transition Metal Catalyzed C-B bond Formation Reactions." He joined the Goldman group in 2019. He is interested in synthetic organometallic chemistry and mechanistic studies in catalysis. Outside the lab, he enjoys traveling, hiking and cooking.
